Life myopia; Marketing Myopia in relation to our daily lives
Generally the term I have used is a business term “Marketing myopia” but surprisingly it relates to our daily lives, now the question arises how?
The term means “mistake of paying more attention to the specific products attributes which is offered by the company rather than to the benefits and experience produced by these products”. Same as the case applies to our lives as when a problem arises in our lives we pay more attention to the apparent problem, we get nervous quickly instead of being positive and looking for the causes to overcome, opportunities in that situation which might arise.
I’ll try to prove my point of view by giving two examples
Firstly at the macro level, the floods in Pakistan are the biggest and the most important problem, no doubt that this is a catastrophe and it has devastating effects on the people as well as the country but if we shall keep on seeing the negative results coming out of this calamity we shall soon loose hope. The need of this hour is that to stand up and look for the ways to handle this problem, at the Government level there are opportunities for government that it can cope up with unemployment when the rehabilitation will start and it can also help effectees both in their homes and works to restart that on the modern lines.
Secondly at individual level, we are well aware that when a problem comes in our daily lives we forgot all our principals and theories and just start worrying about that our elders specially our moms are very fond of worrying, I would say that worrying is for free so everyone worries at any level, as I m worrying about this article. But what should be done is we should think positively and should try to extract the positivity out of the problem. When I got a letter from a bank to appear in the recruitment test, my mind started calculations about that test, it would be difficult, how could I prepare for it in a short span of one week, but I didn’t realize that it would simply add to my experience if I would not select.
So the thing is, one needs to be vigilant, a clear thinking of ten miniutes about the pros and cons of a problem for us common people and about the product for business people can save the losses of months and years.
